Aims of the course The main goal is to introduce students with the basics of acoustics, possible applications and its connections with other sciences.
Learning outcomes Introduction to the basic concepts in metrology. Understanding of all basic principles in connection with physical quantities etalons and all achieved standars. 
Contents of the course
Lectures Lectures:
Theory teaching: Nature and sound transmission. sound refraction and diffraction. Diffraction, absorption, refraction and sound resonance. The human sense of hearing. Division of acoustics science and  its connection with other sciences. Noise and protection from it.
Examples/ practical classes 1. Synthesis and control of complex sound signals 2. Analysis of complex sound signals and speech 3. RL / RC / RLC circuits used as frequency filters 4. Measurement of noise and vibrations 5. Analysis of the sound waves transmission through different media 6. Demonstration of acoustic monopoles, dipoles and quadruples 7. Doppler effect in acoustics 8. Microphones utilization in volumetric analysis
